María Mercedes Pagán, originally from Collores, Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, boasts a dynamic career spanning over 17 years in the insurance industry. Beyond her professional achievements, María Mercedes is deeply passionate about philanthropy, exemplified by her establishment of the ‘Beca Estudiantil María Mercedes Pagán’ Scholarship Program in 2013, aimed at supporting the educational aspirations of Juana Díaz’s youth. Her unwavering commitment to community service and advocacy reflects her dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Beca Estudiantil MMP is specifically designed to provide essential support and assistance to underprivileged children in Juana Diaz, offering them a valuable opportunity to excel academically and personally, enabling them to reach their full potential and break the cycle of poverty.

Our executive board

Camila Pagán

Camila Pagán, born in Orlando, Florida, is a dynamic individual whose journey intertwines athleticism, academia, and a commitment to justice. Graduating from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2023, Camila distinguished herself both in the classroom and on the cheerleading mat, winning three national championships and earning a place on the US National All Girl Cheerleading Team. Currently serving as an Assistant Coach at the University of West Georgia, Camila is also forging a career as a legal assistant. Her dedication to education persists as she prepares to pursue a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Georgia State University. Camila embodies a rare combination of passion, talent, and determination, poised to make meaningful contributions to both the Sporting World and the realm of Law and Governance.

Maria de los Angeles Pagán

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Maria de los Angeles is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern who received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University before moving on to receive her Master’s of Social Work degree from Florida Atlantic University. With three years of experience working in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Maria has experience working with children, adolescents and families in providing early intervention services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. Maria is currently providing outpatient psychotherapy, practicing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Maria has a passion for working with individuals, groups and families experiencing mood disorders, personality disorders, addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression and co-occurring mental health disorder.

Javier Pagán

Javier Pagán holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Communications, he has a strong foundation in leadership, collaboration, and change-management. Over five years of working in the financial services industry, he has been recognized by senior leadership as a top performer in sales, risks, and branch retail operations. He has leveraged this recognition to inspire and lead others to team success. With a selfless approach, he ensures everyone is motivated and focused on achieving individual goals and contribute to overall organization success. He is eager to bring this same level of dedication and leadership to this role and continue to make a positive impact on the program.
